About me

My name is Başak Helvacı Özacar. I am a 5th-year doctoral student at the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary. I completed my BS and MSc degrees in Turkey in science education. I taught science in elementary grades in Turkey. I worked as a research associate for the BAUSTEM research center focusing on STEM teacher professional development.

My research interests include computational thinking, heterogeneity, and hybrid spaces for teacher education. My dissertation work focuses on transdisciplinary teacher professional development.
